My name is Maria Ornelas. I teach second to forth grade in the alternative curriculum at Lockwood Ave. School. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach their yearly academic and personal goals that will help them become better citizens and lifelong learners through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.
I have a wealth of experience working with students in different grade levels as well as different disabilities. My many years of experience in education has encouraged me to move forward as a teacher to help student reach their full potential in education and self-awareness towards independence.
I have earned a masters degree in Educational Counseling as well as Pupil Personal Services (PPS) Credential. I am currently working towards completing my Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Severe Credentials.
It is my your child pleasure to work in collaboration with your child, school staff and administrator for success of the students. My motto “Si se puede!!”
“Yes we can!!”
